Marisa Branco Fernandes
is an artist, born in Santarem (Portugal). She discovered her passion for art and photography in her youth. Marisa studied Fine Arts at the university FH Dortmund in Germany, where she focused primarily on photography. She also complimented her studies with courses in graphic design and oil painting. While in Germany, Marisa photographed for various fashion magazines and collaborated with numerous artists including artists in Portugal.
Returning to Portugal with her husband in 2018, Marisa devotes most of her time to oil paintings and mono prints. She is inspired on a daily basis by the light and architecture in Lisbon and has created her first series of mono prints based on the street scenes from this city. The series was recently exhibited at gallery in Lisbon, and was an immediate success.
Marisa continues to collaborate with other artists both in Portugal and Europe as she feels this always brings an opportunity for growth and creative experiences.
Marisa draws inspiration from artists like Jenny Saville, Tim Walker, Cecily Brown & set designer Shona Heath and is continuously honing her craft through various technical courses in drawing and figure painting.
Marisa is available for commissioned work in painting and mono prints.
